Apparently this is the rage in Germany, and also is called "dinner cancelling". Eat like a king in the morning, like a something something at noon, and a beggar in the evening.
Horst Boettcher explains it on his website:
http://www.halfdaydiet.de/Webcard/index.html
The Half-Day Diet has the following advantages:
* No shifting of the metabolism into an economy mode. Therefore the diet avoids one of the most serious faults of most of the other diets.
* Eating habits on the first half of the day have not to be changed.
* Easily to hold out, because no walking through an endless valley of tears. Daily change from the eating half-day to the diet half-day.
* No prohibition of your favorite dishes, no counting of calories.
* A source of health through purging and decontamination of your body through freeing your body for 15 to 17 hours from the highly energy consuming efforts of digestion.
* The Half-Day Diet is an anti-aging cure at no cost. It produces the human growth hormone in a natural manner. The human growth hormone is one of the most efficient fat burner.
* No yo-yo-effect after the diet, because the metabolism is not damaged.
* No punishment through an increase of weight if you commit a diet-sin during the diet.
* No problems with the change from the diet to normal eating habits after the completion of the diet.
* Additional health effects by apple vinegar: reduces the ravenous appetite, boosts the metabolism, and is regarded as excellent fat burner.
* No harm for your health during the diet, on the contrary (see above).
* No dangerous pills and powdery stuff.
* No one sided nutrition.
* No necessity for expensive additional products.
* No time consuming measures during the diet.
* No complicated instructions.
* To carry out everywhere, therefore ideal for working people.
* Confirmed by US-studies and practice tests in Germany.
* Change of your eating habits in the long run, especially in the second half of the day. This is one of the reasons for the long-term success of the Half-Day Diet. The Half-Day Diet in varying intensity can acompany us during our whole life and can help us to keep the desired weight. This is the conclusion of diet participants.
What to learn from this?
Generally many experts agree with the importance of breakfast. Best to eat the "family meal" at 2 PM or so; unfortunately this is not possible for most working people. When I travel or go to conventions, it is common to go out for a large dinner around 8 PM. Of course the Spaniards and South Americans like late dinners - I don't know why most of them are thin.
Myself, even during the ON days, I avoid large evening meals (also to prevent gastric reflux). This is the opposite of the Warrior Diet (large evening meal). I think it's a better idea.
